Question of MOMSTER :? How long have you sue a builder at home if your home has a major defect caused by the manufacturers
We had our house built in 2003, so we have this six years. now. Recently we discovered that there was a very slow one of the bathroom walls of the house was constructed. There was no indication that spill until recently, as this is a guest bathroom not used much. The only time it leaks is when the shower was used, which is rare. Apparently, employees of the manufacturer perforated pipe with a nail, causing a slow leak. Now, we must have specific mold out and test the air for dangerous molds, then we have a cleaning company mold, and of course there is the remodeling of the bathroom to do. This is going to come in thousands of dollars, which we do not. We also contacted home owners insurance company, our covering any of this as # 1, it cover inspection, cleaning, mold, and # 2 will not cover the work to get to the bathroom “get back together “because the brain due to poor construction by hand builders. If there is anyone out there who is a lawyer or know the law, and would appreciate information. on our rights as homeowners. We are afraid not only of the possible mold issues, but fear the costs, because as I said before, we have no money to pay for it. Most builders have structural warranty information on their websites. They can run anywhere from 2-10 years. However, if your warranty has expired, contact your local Registrar of Contractors. Guidelines are usually 10 years structural. This will ride over the warranty builders in your state as you would a builder licensed contractors in the State sas.Kali luck.
